COMMENTS
PYGSYSTEM was Joey Jordison's solo project in 1995. It's said that Joey recorded a 5-track EP called 'Flora' by himself in February 1995 on a Tascam 8 cassette tape in his friend's basement within the space of just two hours. On the EP he played drums, bass, guitar, saxophone, and a toy piano, as well as doing vocals. For the vocals, he used a Toys 'R' Us voice changer that one of his sisters got for him for Christmas. One of the songs recorded for the EP was titled 'I Want to Kill You'. Slipknot later used the name for two shows in June 1996. The reasons for this are unknown, as they were already performing as 'Slipknot' in April 1996. The name 'Pygsystem' would go on to become famous as one of the alternate names for the band, along with 'Meld'. Unlike that name, however, 'Pygsystem' was not used before they settled on 'Slipknot'.
