COMMENTS
From Des Moines, Iowa, this four-piece death metal machine's musical onslaught emphasizes technicality and hooks combined with thoughts of tormented escape and pride. Their mix is one of integrity and uncontrollable insanity.
From the mouth of Donnie Steele: As far as Killpact is concerned, this is a band that I started with the drummer from Body Pit, Ernie McGinn. We started this band in the summer of 2001 with some songs I'd recorded in my home studio. As far as our sound, this band has more in common with Body Pit. It's a mixture of death metal, 80's thrash, and shred with a strong emphasis on hooks. The main difference between this and the original Body Pit are the songs are a bit shorter and the arrangements are much more straight forward. I think most of the technical aspects are still intact but the emphasis is more on strong songs than on technique and flash.
There's some conflicting info online, such as the 3-track demo from 2003 listed where the tracklisting is as follows: 01. Bloodclot, 02. Stabbed Or Psycho, 03. Epidemic. It's unknown which of the tracklistings on this page is correct, or if there was a different 3-track demo released in the same year as well.
There's also some conflicting info on when the album 'Assault With Intent' was released, with online sources stating either 2003 or 2006. It's unknown which of these release dates on this page is correct, so I've stuck with my original info.
Ben Christopher played on an old demo with Killpact in 2003. He says: "We were trying to be as heavy as possible and playing guitar solos, which weren't in vogue with a lot of the heavy American bands back then."
