Lance 'Kuk' Collier left the band 'downthesun' in 2004 to form The Hell Pigs.

On May 18, 2004, Blabbermouth.net posted: "Former DOWNTHESUN bassist/founding member Lance "Kuk" Collier has reportedly formed a new project dubbed THE HELL PIGS. Described as "southern rock-meets-hardcore with a twist," the group's debut record will be released through Kuk's own Kansas City, MO-based label Pure American Filthy Music."

At the time, KUK was said to have had 31 rough song ideas, was playing guitar and vocals, therefore was time to start pre-production. Along with other special musicians (to be announced later) and a small independent film crew, it was hinted that a documentary was being filmed, 'The End', the making of The Hell Pigs.
