COMMENTS
The concept of Calous was spawned in the early 90's. The brainchild of Des Moines, Iowa native Norman Miller, it's only musical intention: To be powerful, while possessing groove, memorable hooks, and introspective lyrics.
The band went through many line-ups, and never really took off and got sponsored or toured until 2007.
The album 'The Two Betrayals' (2004) was limited to 1000 copies.
In the CD booklet for 'The Two Betrayals' album, there's a song listed as 'God Made Me Ugly', but it's actually called 'God Made Me I'm Ugly'.
Shortly after releasing the album 'Building A Better Mars', Calous signed a deal with Jagermeister (and had to keep up a 76 show a year schedule), and a development deal with Dirtbag Records. Joey left the band due to the rigorous schedule and that's when Brian Ickowitz came in. The next three years were by far the best years for Calous. They played so many amazing shows with bands like Korn (Ballroom Blitz tour), Avenged Sevenfold (Uproar Fest), Stone Sour (Uproar Fest), Hell Yeah (Uproar Fest), Buckcherry, All That Remains, the list goes on and on. In 2011, Norm hurt his vocal chords real bad at the Buckcherry show, and having had enough of this recurring problem, had to step down as vocalist. That's when Josh came in as the vocalist for Calous.
Eventually the band morphed into 'As For You', which is the same line-up as the last Calous one, although with Ryan Thornton being replaced by Jeremiah Johnson on guitar.
